What Makes BGJHS Unique
One of the highest forms of learning can include teaching the concepts. Our elementary students took a science field trip to Glenwood, where 7th and 8th graders hosted a nature scavenger hunt and showed our young Spartans how to make natural seed packs to plant.
MAKER SPACE & TECHNOLOGY LAB
BGJHS' Technology and Design Lab and Maker Space Program have given students opportunities to think, plan and build.
Students are hands-on as they work on projects and develop their own ideas.
Equipment available in the lab includes 3D printers, drills, drill presses, bandsaws, computers, laser printers, various cutting tools, sanders, calipers, hand tools and craft materials.

SCIENCE & HANDS-ON LEARNING
BGJHS has two outdoor classrooms including an amazing Courtyard that's been developed with hands-on science in mind.
Glenwood’s Natural Habitat and Pollinator Garden was grant funded and maintained since 2016. Federal ESSER dollars were used to further expand on the outdoor learning space including a teaching pavilion. The space can be used for observation, planting, water and soil analysis among many other purposes.
A Terracycle $15,000 grant in 2022 established a Recycled Garden made up of recycled tables, benches and planting beds that are durable and made to last. They surround a Federally funded Composter that is used to take cafeteria waste and provide nutrients for growing and planting.
