The Boardman Spartan Marching Band will be front and center as the 180th Canfield Fair gets underway on September 3, taking part in two special performances on the official Opening Day.

The Spartan Marching Band has been invited to participate in the Canfield Fair Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday on the Concourse, where the band will proudly perform the National Anthem to officially help kick off the 180th Canfield Fair.

Then, at 11 a.m., the band will head to the Grandstand for the Traditional High School Band Show, featuring more than a dozen talented and entertaining marching bands from across the Valley. Boardman will have the honor of opening the Band Show, setting the stage for a morning filled with music, school spirit and tradition.

This year’s performances are especially meaningful as the Boardman Spartan Marching Band celebrates its 100th anniversary. Since 1926, generations of Boardman musicians have proudly carried on a tradition of excellence, representing Boardman Local Schools and the Spartan community throughout the region.

We are incredibly proud of our Spartan Marching Band and excited to see them represent Boardman at the Canfield Fair as they celebrate 100 years of Spartan Band tradition!
